- ➤ Bloomington police closed off an area after a man allegedly fled a traffic stop with a handgun at the intersection of East Front and South Clayton streets at 6:25 p.m. Friday, June 27 — after a man matching the suspect’s description entered a business, officers located a handgun near his last known position and later reopened traffic when they determined he was not the person they were seeking. - ➤ 19-year-old Emir Thomas remains in McLean County Jail after his June 24 arrest in Chicago for a shooting at ISU’s Bone Student Center on April 27—he faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery by discharging a firearm, and unlawful handgun possession with his arraignment set for July 18. 25 News Now

- ➤ Six Heartland Community College students took a train from Normal to Chicago on June 21st—22nd to attend Chicago Pride Fest where they celebrated their identity and felt safe in an inclusive environment. Student leader Luis Bazan said the trip was designed to help younger students build connections and learn more about their community. The Pantagraph
- ➤ Nomad Theatre Company announced its 2025-26 season with plays staged in unique local settings including a historic courthouse and an alpaca farm barn—opening with the 'Order in the Court' series. The series will run Sept. 19—27, and the season also features a full-length production at the McLean County Arts Center and pop-up events in local libraries. WGLT
