EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Illinois State University and Heartland Community College have launched a transfer partnership to ease the process for Heartland students pursuing an online bachelor's degree in business administration. The new agreement will simplify student transfers and expand access to the business program. The Pantagraph
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ A report from the National Taxpayers Union Foundation said that if Congress does not extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, Illinois taxpayers will pay about $2,800 more in taxes next year—this happens because cuts in deductions and credits will lower benefits, and state lawmakers must act to avoid even higher state taxes. - ➤ The Town of Normal launched a community survey on April 29th, 2024 to ask residents about town services such as housing, education, and public safety+ developed in partnership with Zencity, the survey uses online ads featuring local parks and festivals to gather secure, balanced feedback. - ➤ Darla Glover volunteers at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal by singing songs to calm patients during treatments—she is a classically trained opera singer who sings any song on request.
