- ➤ On Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, TedxNormal will mark its 10th anniversary at Heartland Community College's Astroth Community Education Center with discussions on new ideas using the 'Still Anything But Normal' theme—featuring speakers Shanika Green and Dr. Rebecca Hubbard. WGLT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Normal Public Library is close to finishing its roughly $7 million renovation and asbestos removal project but now faces a failing roof on its 1973 building—bids for a replacement estimated to cost over $500,000 will be reviewed in April or May. The library will reopen on July 1 after delays from an extended furniture delivery schedule. WGLT
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The ISU women’s basketball team will play Abilene Christian in the Super 16 round at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday — the game was moved from CEFCU Arena because of a scheduling conflict. ISU athletics director Jerri Beggs announced that head coach Kristen Gillespie signed a five-year contract extension through the 2029-2030 season — her contract terms were not disclosed. WGLT
