  • Bloomington is unveiling a mobile fire safety simulator during National Fire Prevention Week that teaches how to prevent and respond to cooking, home and weather-related fires—its 27-foot design features interactive scenarios and ADA accessibility while partly funded with a State Farm grant; it will tour McLean County this year.  25 News Now

  • Patrick Cunningham’s top five plays of the week countdown (Sep. 28-Oct. 5) highlighted Stark County cross country, Pekin golf, Limestone volleyball, Normal Community football and Normal West soccer and offered a look at key sports moments from last week.  Central Illinois Proud
  • On Oct. 4, state-ranked soccer teams competed as Dunlap won a 1 to 0 game over defending state champ U-High after shutting out Normal West earlier while Morton earned a 2 to 0 win and Washington a 3 to 0 victory over Champaign Centennial. At a Pekin volleyball tournament, Limestone finished first with Mia Lamberti recording her 1,000th kill — El Paso-Gridley girls won the cross country team title at the Elmwood Invitational with Stark County junior Dusti Smith winning her race.  Central Illinois Proud
