- ➤ Encounter ministry started a $3.7 million remodel of its building near ISU yesterday to help students in crisis with a new Lab Coffee shop and counseling offices. The project has raised $2.7 million from donors and will add a 3500 square foot space facing Mulberry Street—improving its community ties and opening next June. WGLT

- ➤ Rivian Automotive began making electric trucks, SUVs, and delivery vans in Normal in 2021—a plan based on years of preparation—and is now expanding production to meet growing demand in the area. The Pantagraph

- ➤ Bloomington Ice Center will host a girls-only Try Hockey for Free Day event from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on October 19 — local girls can try hockey at 201 S. Roosevelt Ave. as they learn the sport. The Pantagraph
