GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Beginning 7:00 a.m. Monday, September 22, Henry Street between Whitaker Street and Teegan Street will be closed in both directions for pavement repair. Northbound traffic will detour from Teegan Street to Ogelthorpe Avenue and onto Whitaker Street and southbound traffic will detour from Whitaker to Ogelthorpe and Teegan Street — the work is expected to finish by 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, weather permitting. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ After two weeks of hard-fought competition—16 mascots advanced in the 2025 CIProud High School Mascot Bracket after winning Round of 32 matchups including one featuring Elmwood/Brimfield Trojans versus Eureka Hornets—the matchups for the Round of 16 have been set. Voting will start at 8:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22 and end at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. Central Illinois Proud
