CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Authorities are still searching for a 70-year-old suspect, identified as David D. Jordan, who allegedly shot two police officers in Gibson City, set his house on fire and disappeared unclothed—both injured officers have been released while police advise locals to call 911 if they see him. WGLT
- ➤ Today, the Center for Prevention of Abuse partnered with the Illinois Trafficking Enforcement Group, a new statewide task force that will bring together law enforcement and community groups to fight human trafficking in Illinois. The task force will operate from the new Investigative Support Operations Center in Decatur and use advanced technology to track criminals and rescue victims (involving the Illinois State Police, Decatur Police Department, McLean County Sheriff’s Office, and the Howard G. - ➤ The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts will switch to cashless concessions on September 1st—saving staff time and improving safety as demand rises.
