  • Bloomington police detained a Peoria man in McLean County after responding to a bar fight—he is accused of armed violence.  The Pantagraph

  • Heartland Theatre Company announced that Rhys Lovell will step down as artistic director at the end of the 2025–26 season. The move will begin a search for new leadership to ensure a smooth transition.  The Pantagraph

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The LeRoy Sewer Department announced that the intersection of North East Street and East Washington Street will be closed today for sewer repairs. North East Street remains open for north-south traffic and repair work should finish by day's end—any questions can be directed to Scott Bryant at 309 275 3573.  Central Illinois Proud
  • Jon Albee, a 15-year veteran of the McLean County Sheriff’s Office from Normal, has announced his candidacy for sheriff and promised to equip law enforcement with better technology and resources to keep families safe. He will work to boost employee wellness and retention—his campaign is currently uncontested with a primary set for next March.  Central Illinois Proud
  • Today, a parking ban and lane reduction will begin on Hoover Drive and Truman Drive at 7 a.m. — the change will allow workers to repair the pavement.  The Pantagraph
