COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Despite hot, stormy weather over the weekend, fairgoers at the McLean County Fair enjoyed a rodeo that drew about 1,200 people along with trick riding, monster truck shows, and 4-H displays, and nearly 9,000 attended on Saturday. Today, as the fair ends with gates open from noon to 7 p.m. (half-price day is planned and organizers hope the demolition derby goes ahead if the weather holds), community members enjoyed a full day of local fun.  The Pantagraph

  • A Bloomington woman accused of selling cocaine had her pretrial release revoked by a McLean County judge—she is now held in county custody.  The Pantagraph

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Illinois Wesleyan University set a new record as 16 student-athletes were named Academic All-Americans for the 2024-25 school year—this honor recognizes excellence in both sports and academics while breaking last year’s record of 10 honorees. The awards require at least a 3.50 GPA and mark a milestone in the school's long-standing tradition of academic and athletic success.  Central Illinois Proud
