- ➤ The Town of Normal opened today the fully renovated Fairview skatepark after two years of work with community input and a $450,000 investment. - ➤ Illinois police from Bloomington, Normal and other towns will join forces today for Illinois Speed Awareness Day to curb speeding — drivers can expect increased patrols. - ➤ Heartland Community College chose alum Senesta Angell Howard to fill the trustee seat after Cecelia Long quit in June to seek work outside the district; Howard, who works as an associate director at ISU (and started a consulting firm), will join the board on August 19 and serve until 2027. WGLT
- ➤ Today the Seifert family of Carlock is loading live chickens, vegetables, a calf named Bailey, and Lego kits for the McLean County 4‑H Show at Cloverleaf Hall in Bloomington.
