The McLean County Parks and Recreation Department will host the Take a Kid Fishing Tournament on July 19 at Evergreen Lake for kids (aged 4 to 12 with one adult per team) with an entry fee ($10 per team and $5 for each extra child).
Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Glasener Beach Building in COMLARA Park at Evergreen Lake, with fishing beginning at 9 a.m. and weigh-ins at noon.
The Normal Public Library will reopen its main branch at 2016 W.

Normal Police are asking for help to find 15-year-old Kamilah M who was last seen on July 9 around noon on Park Trail Road in Normal, described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 120 pounds with red hair and brown eyes, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jean shorts; anyone with information should call 309-888-5030.

ISU Police Chief Aaron Woodruff and Detective Matthew Hice rode 390 miles from Champaign to Chicago as part of Cycle Across Illinois to honor fallen officers— they supported Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors and remembered those who lost their lives on duty, including Trooper Corey Thompsen who died in a motorcycle accident during a traffic stop.
