Normal police are searching for Jordan Jackson, a 25-year-old man who is missing and may be at risk—he is described as a Black male who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 200 pounds with black hair.

A mural honoring Abraham Lincoln’s lost speech was dedicated on May 29 in downtown Bloomington to mark the 169th anniversary, and local groups backed the project—artist Troy Freeman painted the wall at Rosie’s Pub after funding and input were secured.

Leaders from Bloomington and Normal are asking the McLean County Board to temporarily stop collecting the 1% sales tax meant for mental health and public safety programs and to audit spending from a fund that holds about $20 million—money used for projects like a jail expansion and a homeless village. The cities would keep roughly $3 million and $2 million each year, and the proposal will be discussed at an executive committee meeting at 4 p.m. today with a full board decision on Thursday.

McLean County Clerk Kathy Michael — who handles vital records and business registrations — announced she is running for re-election with the primary set for March 17.

She said her staff digitized records, started a free property fraud alert system, and ran 26 elections with no credible fraud claims.
