- ➤ On Thursday, the Humane Society of Central Illinois asked for donations after its air conditioning failed during a heat emergency, and hundreds of local residents provided funds, fans and supplies to help. Operations Manager Mandy Hawker said the shelter was cool and safe by Friday — the organization is still accepting contributions to replace a unit. 25 News Now

- ➤ A lane reduction will start at 12 a.m. Tuesday, July 1 on West College Avenue between Parkside Road and White Oak Road for pavement repair in Normal—work is expected to finish by 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1—and drivers should use caution. City of Normal
- ➤ Starting Tuesday, July 1 at 4 a.m., Fort Jesse Road between Landmark Drive and Greenbriar Drive will have a lane reduction for pavement repair—drivers are advised to use caution. The lane will reopen at 12 p.m. daily and the repair work is expected to finish by Thursday, July 3, weather permitting. City of Normal
