- ➤ Chief Meteorologist Chris Yates visited Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City on Friday for the Wild Nights event, where the park stayed open until 8:30 p.m. every Friday in June, July and August. He added that the event features the Wildfire Concert series and Jr. Naturalist Classes — and he even saw wolves cooling off with a blood popsicle. Central Illinois Proud
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 43-year-old (Emmanuel Marroquin-Jimenez) in Bloomington on Monday when he went to the county law and justice center for a hearing on criminal trespass and theft charges and McLean County Sheriff Lane said ICE did not ask for help because state law prevents it. 25 News Now
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ An outdoor performance will take place on June 20 at the Illinois State University Horticulture Center to celebrate the solstice and honor Native Americans. The event—open to all local residents—is planned to showcase community culture—details on the program have not yet been released. The Pantagraph

- ➤ Heartland Community College President Keith Cornille was honored by the Illinois Community College Trustees Association – he was named the recipient of the 2025 Advocacy Award. The Pantagraph
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The McLean County Board approved a $1.3 million grant to Home Sweet Home Ministries to build a cabin village on transit-owned land near Downtown Bloomington that will offer private spaces for up to 56 homeless individuals—officials warned that future funding gaps might slow construction since the grant covers only half the total cost. 25 News Now
- ➤ Illinois aims to be the best state for raising young children by using the Birth to Five initiative to help families in Region 17, covering Livingston, Logan, DeWitt and McLean counties, meet childcare needs—families may join the Family Council to share ideas and receive a stipend. 25 News Now
