- ➤ Angela Gilbert of Normal was named the winner of the McLean County Route 66 Photo Contest — organized by the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Pantagraph
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Traffic signal maintenance will begin today at 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of West Mulberry Street, School Street and West College Avenue in Normal if weather permits. The Pantagraph
- ➤ Representatives Darin LaHood and Eric Sorensen — who represent parts of our community — split on a House vote that passed 214-to-212 on a measure to cancel funding for foreign aid and public media, sending the bill to the U.S. Senate. NPR President Katherine Maher warned that some stations could lose support if the rescission of $9.4 billion already approved for international programs is approved. WGLT
- ➤ The McLean County Board approved ($1.3 million) in funding for Home Sweet Home Ministries’ 56-bed shelter village project at Oakland Avenue and Main Street (Bloomington) to expand emergency housing for residents in need. The Pantagraph
