- ➤ Central Illinois will celebrate Juneteenth this month with many events, including free admission at the McLean County Museum of History in Bloomington on June 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. + celebrations in Champaign, Decatur, Peoria and other areas will offer music, dance and family activities to honor the day slavery ended. - ➤ Illinois State University installed a 320-square-foot Vertical Farm with a hydroponic system at 305 N. School St. to grow leafy greens and herbs for campus dining services — seedlings will be planted at the end of June so that produce is ready for fall classes. The Pantagraph
- ➤ Two Heartland Community College spring graduates Auston Koch and Ella Brownlee earned the Illinois Community College Trustees Association scholarship awards — the honor recognizes their academic achievement this past semester. The Pantagraph
