Good morning, Normal.

Town of Normal announced Chippewa Street in the Savannah Green subdivision will be closed at 6 a.m. Monday, June 2 for reconstruction as part of ongoing road repairs.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area—residents with parking, garbage, or mail delivery issues will receive direct notification from the town.

A homeless encampment for five residents on property owned by the water reclamation district will be cleared by June 1 as the district begins a sewer reconstruction project early next month—Home Sweet Home Ministries is working to move the residents to a new shelter village near its Bloomington campus. The project will install a new sewer liner across several sites and may affect local traffic.
