- ➤ The Boys and Girls Club cut its budget by over $900,000 and eliminated 26 jobs while moving several programs to its main facility at 1615 Illinois St. to serve local youth amid a $600,000 funding shortfall (85 children are on the wait list) and is asking for help through its Blue Door campaign (hoping to raise $150,000). - ➤ Normal Public Library will host its first Kid Market at the Community Activity Center — where kids ages 7 to 14 sell handmade crafts — on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. Local businesses provided mentoring through a 10-week online business school to help prepare the young entrepreneurs for the event. WGLT
- ➤ The Baby Fold will remove the Randle Hall building at 108 E. Willow St. in Normal—work is set to begin Saturday, May 24. The Pantagraph

- ➤ Archbishop Fulton Sheen, born in central Illinois, is being considered for sainthood as the Diocese of Peoria works with other dioceses and the Universal Church to resume his beatification — new outreach from the Holy Father is expected to help move the process forward — while the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will include stops at his home church in El Paso.
