- ➤ On May 4th, a fire broke out on the 1800 block of Johnson Drive in Normal that severely damaged a one-car garage (with nearby siding also affected) and displaced residents while firefighters, including off-duty personnel and Bloomington’s Rapid Intervention Team, worked to contain the blaze. - ➤ Rivian Automotive announced Monday that it will invest nearly $120 million in a 1.2 million-square-foot site in Normal to host suppliers who produce parts for its vehicles + the project is supported by state incentives. The Pantagraph
- ➤ A multi-state recall has been issued for four-count vine ripe tomatoes sold by Gordon Food Service, with the FDA reporting no illnesses from potential salmonella contamination. Rivian announced it will build a 1.2 million square-foot supplier park in Normal that will create nearly 100 jobs, and a Chicago man facing mail theft and burglary charges was arrested near the Magnificent Mile after escaping a postal inspector — he was found with 52 credit cards and counterfeit items.
