  • Children’s Discovery Museum in Normal offers a monthly Sensory Night series during Autism Acceptance Month—designed to support families with sensory needs. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Heartland Community College in Normal held its groundbreaking for an expansion of the Constitution Trail around Birky Pond on Wednesday. The project includes a gazebo, pond overlook & bird watching blind as part of a plan to restore 13 acres, with construction continuing through the summer and completion expected by the end of 2025.  Central Illinois Proud

  • A lane reduction is planned along East Vernon Avenue between Brookwood and Anthony drives for pavement repairs until 3 p.m. today.  The Pantagraph

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Illinois Department of Public Health announced its first confirmed measles case this year involving an adult in far southern Illinois on Wednesday. Lab tests confirmed the infection and the agency is working with local health officials to track exposures — medical providers are urged to check for symptoms and notify their local department.  Central Illinois Proud
