- ➤ Eastern Illinois Foodbank will end the monthly food distribution at Normal Community West High School after the June event—redirecting its resources to rural food pantries—while the Unit 5 school district and local volunteers have helped about 200 Bloomington-Normal residents get a variety of food items each month. - ➤ Pawfficer Korg, a 2-year-old therapy dog from the ISU Police Department's program that began in 2023, arrived on campus in March to help students and the community feel more at ease with officers. Sgt. Mike Gardner said his presence—helping reduce stress for both officers and visitors—has inspired other campuses to adopt similar programs. WGLT
