- ➤ State senators voted 55-0 on April 11th to ban carbon capture near the Mahomet Aquifer—protecting the sole water source for nearly one million people. The bill now awaits a vote in the Illinois House—where lawmakers will review safety measures before new projects begin. WGLT

- ➤ State Sen. Chapin Rose introduced Senate Bill 211— a measure that would require officials to reveal the names of close family members working together in local government to help voters see potential conflicts of interest.
