GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Illinois lawmakers considered Senate Bill 1618 at Tuesday’s Liquor Control Committee hearing to update craft distillery rules and allow direct shipments, which supporters say will help small producers compete (only 11 states currently permit direct shipping while Illinois does not). A separate measure, Senate Bill 2230, would let retailers store alcohol at another licensed site and is opposed by some local business owners (one owner received a fine for off-site storage).
