- ➤ Bloomington-Normal YMCA leaders recently traveled to Washington to advocate for full funding of childcare and health programs, meeting with representatives on behalf of national initiatives. The organization plans to expand its local services with mobile programming to reach more community members. WGLT
- ➤ The annual Sharin' of the Green Parade — a beloved local tradition — will start at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14 in uptown Normal, temporarily blocking streets for the event. The Pantagraph

- ➤ Rivian announced that its new R2 SUV made in Normal will deliver a special launch version — priced at $57,990 — this spring while a base model is scheduled to debut in late 2027. WGLT

- ➤ Bloomington-based singer Chicago Farmer released his first label-produced LP, Homeaid, on March 6 via LoHi Records on vinyl, CD & streaming platforms. He will perform at the Castle Theatre on March 28 with his touring band, the Fieldnotes. WGLT

- ➤ The League of Women Voters of McLean County will host a free informational panel on criminal justice reform next week in the community, inviting residents to learn about recent changes + share their views. The Pantagraph

- ➤ Josh Roop (a longtime Tri-Valley coach) will be inducted into the IHSA Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame on March 28 in Champaign. A celebration will follow at 6 p.m. at Gameday Grill in Downs, and his record of 156-49 along with his focus on character building make him a local standout. WGLT
