➤ A 1938 oil on canvas mural by New York artist Albert Pels now hangs in the post office built in 1936 to boost the local economy during the Depression. The work (Development of the State Normal School) honors local education and community progress. WGLT

➤ Illinois State's football team lost 35-34 in overtime Monday night in the FCS title game against Montana State (penalties and a missed extra point cost the Redbirds) and ended the season at 12-4. 25 News Now
